Paradise
Paradise...
This is one of my favourite series of images. I spent a week in Surfers Paradise in Australia back
in 2017. While I was there I wanted to capture images of the beach as I remembered it years ago - open, vast and light.
Normally the images I create have very strong, moody colours, but I wanted to create a series that was really light and free, and really represented how I felt about Surfers Paradise.
There’s a sense of openness and freedom, of hope and possibility, and space.
Sometimes they make me feel like I haven’t actually been there, and I can immerse myself in them for hours.
This series won the Rangefinder/PDN 2017 Global Fine Art Award
and was part of a group exhibition in New York in 2018.
It also featured in their print magazine and online gallery.
